Privacy Policy

Strenix is operated by Refine Journal LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how Strenix handles information when you use the app. Our approach is simple: your data is yours, it stays on your device by default, and we don't sell it.

What we collect and store

On your device. Strenix stores the data you enter — workouts, sets, bodyweight, food logs, goals, and settings — locally on your device. We do not keep a server-side copy of this data, and you do not need an account to use the app.

Apple Health (optional). If you connect Apple Health, Strenix reads your latest bodyweight (to keep your trend current) and writes the workouts, weigh-ins, and nutrition you log. This data is managed by Apple's HealthKit on your device; we never receive a copy on our servers. You can review or revoke Health permissions anytime in the Health app or iOS Settings. Health data is never used for advertising and is never shared with third parties.

AI meal analysis

If you use AI logging (a Pro feature), the meal photo or text description you submit is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing service and AI provider solely to estimate the food and its macros. We do not store your photos or descriptions after the estimate is returned, and they are not used to advertise to you. Please only submit images you're comfortable having analyzed.

Barcodes

When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (a free, open food database) to look up product information. No personal information is sent.

Subscriptions

Strenix Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your name, payment card, or billing details — Apple does, under Apple's privacy policy. We receive only the subscription status needed to unlock Pro features on your devices.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your personal information.
• We don't show third-party ads.
• We don't use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app removes its local data. Data you saved to Apple Health remains in Health until you remove it there. To delete a single entry, remove it in the app.

Children

Strenix is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

We use encryption in transit for the limited data sent for AI analysis and barcode lookups. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but Strenix is designed to minimize the data that ever leaves your device.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
